Tree Commission

Commission Overview

The Tree Commission is charged with providing assistance, direction, and expertise to the Village regarding the preservation, planting, management and protection of trees. The Commissioners also make recommendations on urban forest issues affecting the Village that requires action by the Mayor and Village Board.

The Village currently manages 3,162 trees throughout its Village parkways and right of ways. There are also 1,056 open planting spaces that have been recorded, which represents significant potential for growth of the Urban Forest resource. The Urban Forestry Management Plan details how these trees will be managed for the benefit of the Village projecting out to 2032.
