To report an emergency anywhere in Champaign County, dial 911 from your cell or landline phone. All 911 phone calls are connected with the METCAD Dispatch Center.

To report a non-emergency, call (217) 892-2103. This is the non-emergency number for the Rantoul Police Department.

Anonymous Crime Tips
The Crime Tips website was created to provide community members an anonymous and confidential way to report weapons, drugs or other safety concerns within the Village of Rantoul. You should message the website only in those situations where there is no immediate threat of violence to you or anyone else. Any risk of immediate harm should be reported to 911. When you message the Tips website, make sure you are ready to give an accurate, detailed account of the situation. Rantoul Police Staff will then asses the situation and make a determination about the appropriate response.
Messages can be made anonymously; however leaving contact information would be helpful in an investigation.
Rantoul Township High School Tips
The RTHS School Resource Officer Tips website was created to provide students, parents and community members an anonymous and confidential way to report any threats of violence, bullying, weapons, drugs or other safety concerns within the Rantoul Township High School. You should message the website only in those situations where there is no immediate threat of violence to you, students or staff.

The Rantoul Police Department is committed to fair and effective law enforcement and appreciates hearing from citizens when we get it right, or when a citizen believes that a police employee did, or might have done something wrong.
We value the opportunity to explain our actions, or to discover if there has been misconduct by police staff. Please file formal complaints regarding police employee misconduct within 60 days of the event.
