The Rantoul Police Department proudly services the Village of Rantoul; a diverse and emerging community of approximately 12,500 residents. The Village is located in East-Central Illinois along Interstate 57, just minutes away from Champaign-Urbana and the University of Illinois.

The Rantoul Police Department is a progressive and innovative law enforcement agency, possessing a strong value system that emphasizes providing services with respect, integrity, and pride. Our Mission is to maintain the safety of our citizens, to preserve the peace, to protect property, and to improve the quality of life in the Village of Rantoul. The Department consists of 37 employees, 30 of which are sworn police officers. The Department is divided into two service divisions, with a Deputy Chief overseeing each division. The Operations Division is led by Deputy Chief Dustin Morgan, and the Administrative Division is led by Deputy Chief Christina Reifsteck.

In 2022, the Rantoul Police Department developed the 4U Rantoul Initiative, which is committed to providing crisis intervention, advocacy, community outreach, and social service assistance to the community.

The goal is to reduce citizen involvement in the criminal justice system, assisting victims of crime, helping those in need, and ultimately improving the quality of live in our community. The four pillars of the program are crisis intervention, advocacy, social service assistance, and community outreach. The 4U Rantoul Initiative is overseen by Deputy Chief Christina Reifsteck, and staffed by a licensed social worker.
