The Clerk’s office is the keeper of the records and is dedicated to assisting the citizens with request for information, and records the Minutes. The Clerk also serves as the Freedom of Information Officer, working with the various departments to respond in a timely manner to all requests.
In election years, petitions for the position of Mayor, Trustee, Clerk, and Library Trustee may be picked up from the Clerk’s office. A Candidate’s Guide is prepared for potential candidates outlining the process of completing and filing for office.
Please note: the Office of the County Clerk, located at the Bennett Administrative Center, 102 E. Main Street, Urbana maintains all Birth and Death Certificates for Champaign County, issues Marriage Licenses, and registers voters.
