Liquor Licenses

Requirements

An annual license is required for all Liquor establishments within the Village of Rantoul as outlined in Chapter 4 of the Village Code. Licenses are issued for the period of May 1 to April 30.

Classifications

Licenses are available for classifications such as general retail, package, restaurant, hotel / motel and golf course sales.

Applications

Completed applications for corporations, limited liability company, or individual ownership, along with any required documentation should be submitted to the Village Clerk for review. Allow 3 -4 weeks for the review process.

Fees

Fees are set by the Village Board.

Insurance

Applicant is required to provide an insurance certificate with coverage as outlined the Village Code. Insurance coverage is required for the term of the license as outlined in the Liquor License Insurance Policy.

Inspection

Before a license can be issued, the inspection department will inspect the property to make sure there are no code enforcement issues and/or that all corrections have been made.

Health Permit

If establishment prepares and sells food on premises, a Champaign County Health Permit must be obtained prior to receiving a liquor license. Please contact the Champaign County Health Department at (217) 363-3269.

Renewal

Annual renewal application may be submitted from March 1 to April 10 of each year. Once the license is approved, the license will be mailed to the business.

Temporary License


A temporary license for special events either on-site or off-site must be submitted at least 14 days prior to the event.
