Division Overview

The Property Maintenance Division enforces all matters dealing with illegal parking on private property, inoperable or unlicensed vehicles, accumulation of trash or debris, grass / weeds growth, graffiti, and a variety of other exterior property maintenance issues.


There are three ways you can make a property nuisance complaint:

  • You can make a complaint by calling the Property Maintenance Division at 217/892-6840 or 217/892-6853.
  • You can fill out and submit our on-line Nuisance Complaint Form.
  • You can download a paper copy of the Nuisance Complaint Form, fill it out and bring it into our offices located at the Municipal Building, 333 S. Tanner St., Rantoul, Illinois 61866.

ANNUAL FREE CLEAN-UP DAY

The Village of Rantoul along with Area Waste hosts an annual Free Clean-Up day to allow residents to dispose of large bulky items for free.  This year's event is Saturday, JUNE 10, 2023.  Only Rantoul residents who pay for garbage service on their Rantoul Utility Bill can participate.  Please click on the 2023 Clean Up Day link for more information as to the location and times for this event.

THERE WILL NOT BE ANY ELECTRONICS RECYCLING AT THIS EVENT. 

However, Rantoul residents are eligible to take their unwanted electronics items to the Champaign County electronics recycling events. Two Residential Electronics Collection (REC) events will take place at Parkland College this year, on May 20, 2023 and the Fall date is to be determined. Residents must advance register online at: https://ecycle.simplybook.me/v2/  At this website, residents will select an available 15-minute timeslot during which they plan to arrive at the REC.  Online registration for the May 20th event starts on Monday, April 17, 2023,

IEPA HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION EVENT


Register to Attend the Household Hazardous Waste Collection on Saturday, April 15, 2023


The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency will sponsor a Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection on Saturday, April 15, 2023 in Champaign. Complete information about the location of the IEPA-sponsored One-Day HHW Collection is available on the advance registration website at www.hhwevent.simplybook.me. In order to provide more efficient drop-off experience at the HHW collection, the hazardous waste contractor will provide additional drop-off lines, more staff, and fewer residents will be registered in each time slot.


Each Resident Must Reserve an Appointment to Attend


The IEPA-sponsored One-Day HHW Collection event is open to all Illinois residents. Each resident who plans to attend the collection event MUST reserve a 15-minute appointment time in order to attend the collection event. The registration website is www.hhwevent.simplybook.me.  Act soon! Available appointment times are filling up fast.


To register online, click on “Book Now” and you will see remaining  15-minute time slots under “Sat, April 15”.  Select one of the available 15-minute time slots and then enter the required information. Once you provide all of the requested information,  you will automatically receive a confirmation email and/or text.  (If you do not automatically receive a confirmation email and/or text, then your registration is not complete. Please go back and review it and make sure you are not missing anything.) 


Items NOT to Bring to the HHW Collection: Latex paint! Please do not bring latex paint, also referred to as water-based paint. 

Latex paint is not considered a hazardous waste and latex paint WILL NOT be accepted at the collection.
