Recreation Classes

The Village of Rantoul Recreation Department is proud to offer a wide selection of classes available to adults and seniors. For more information, click on the links below:

Woodworking Shop Hours
The woodworking shop in the Recreation Building is open Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00 PM - 9:00 pm and on Saturday mornings from 8 to 11 am.

Everyone using the woodworking shop must be 16 years of age or older and complete a training session. Shop fees are $2 per hour with a maximum of $5 per session. Contact the Recreation Department for additional information.

Youth Fitness Orientation
Youth participation allowed at Forum Fitness Center after completion of the training class which is held every 3rd Monday of each month. The class open to 14 and 15 year olds and is held at 7PM at the Forum Fitness Center. Advanced registration is required and the cost is $10 per person. For more information, call 892-4406.

Dance Classes
The Recreation Department and the Rantoul High School dance team are offering dance classes that run from September - May. No pre-registration is required. Classes are open to children ages 7-12.

Information for the next session will be posted when available.

Dance classes for children ages 3 - 12 will be held at the Youth Center

Ages 3-4-5 Ballet & tap - Time TBD
Ages 6-7-8 Ballet & Jaz - Time TBD
Ages 9-10-11-12 Ballet & Jazz - Time TBD

Cost of the class is $30 per student. Teacher is Miranda Crawford. Ballet and Tap shoes are preferred but not required. Limit 10 students per class. Sign up at the Recreation Department Office.

Art Lessons
Ben Daniels will be teaching art lessons at the Recreation Department. Classes will meet on Saturdays beginning April 5th (2008). The class is 8 weeks, and will cost $87 per student. There are three levels of classes and various times. Sign up at the Recreation Department office or call 893-0461. For class details call Jane Daniels at 419-0205.
