| The Village of Rantoul maintains
Frank Elliott Field on the grounds of the former
Chanute Air Force Base. Today, the Airport is
much quieter than it was during the active days
of Chanute Air Force Base when military aircraft
made daily use of the runways.
During the summer months, Rantoul
Airport becomes one of the busiest airports in
the area. Something new this year will be the
1st Annual Chanute Air Museum Air Show Festival.
The festival will be held August 11 & 12th,
with live bands and a ramp dance on Saturday evening!
